Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS)

PMS symptoms are largely caused by high estrogen levels which impair the liver’s ability to rid the body of toxins. This can often be controlled nutritionally by a diet lower in saturated fat which is found in meat and dairy.

Typically women who suffer from PMS are also vitamin and mineral deficient, therefore lots of fruits and vegetables should be consumed. Fruits and vegetables not only replenish lost nutrient stores but also contain the necessary fibre that will help to eliminate excess estrogen. Plant and soy foods, such as miso and yogurt, also contain phytoestrogens which are much weaker versions of estrogen and can help the symptoms to subside by balancing estrogen levels.

As we get you on track nutritionally, there are extremely effective supplements that may help to relieve your symptoms in the interim. I will help you to make these choices throughout your program.
