Cardiovascular disease refers to those that affect the heart or blood vessels (veins and arteries). Common types of CVD are arteriosclerosis which is hardening of the arteries (loss of flexibility) and atherosclerosis which is a form of arteriosclerosis where multiple plaques are building up leading to narrowing of the artery and causing inadequate blood flow to the organ it leads to. If other arteries need to compensate for this backlog then a potential aneurism may result.
Eating well and exercising regularly is the best natural ammunition we have for preventing heart disease. A proper diet and exercise can also reduce the progression of heart disease if you are currently suffering from it. There are also other successful approaches out there that can work to clean out the arteries from years of damage which have reduced the need for bypass surgery on several occasions.
We will decide if these options are beneficial for you throughout your program.
